Spread Love Foundation

We believe that all services provided to those in need should be done so in love, offering hope, mercy and compassion. We believe that personal spiritual transformation occurs from strong Christian discipleship, equipping and training. We believe that addictions can be overcome through prayer, medical treatment and deep, abiding, healthy relationships. We believe that homelessness is a temporary condition that, when desired, can be overcome with personal healing, educational assistance, food, housing and employment.

We at spread love foundation strive to be a world leader among missions that provide for the poor, restore the addicted and eliminate homelessness.

We see each individual as a spiritual person of worth and dignity and worthy of assistance in their journey. Our vision is to see individuals and families set free from addictions and homelessness, transformed by God to become physically and spiritually healthy; educationally equipped to participate in society and sustain housing; and encouraged to create relationships of love and service to others. We seek to help those who have been abused and neglected to find a better life. We seek to help those who have become addicted to understand their addictions, to expect physical healing and to live in ways that are healthy to soul, mind and body.

What are the effects of homelessness?

Homelessness has many harmful effects. You can’t maintain a healthy lifestyle when you’re living on the streets. You don’t have a place to prepare healthy meals, and you don’t have access to the amenities that facilitate exercise. You also don’t have a permanent address, which creates many problems in itself. You can’t get a driver’s license, open a bank account, or even get a job if you don’t have an address. If you have a mental illness, living on the streets is going to make it worse. There are very few people who have access to the types of care and treatment that people with mental illnesses need. Homelessness is also a very dangerous lifestyle. You’re at a much higher risk of being assaulted or injured, contracting an illness, or even dying.

How can we solve the problem?

The first thing to do is to acknowledge the scale of the problem. The vast majority of people don’t want to be homeless – it’s simply that they don’t know where to go or what to do. By increasing awareness of the problem and educating the public, we can help many people who are currently living in the streets. We can also reduce the risk of people ending up homeless in the first place. One way of doing this is to increase the amount of affordable housing available. Another is to provide outreach services to people who are most at risk of homelessness. Another way of solving the problem is by providing people who are already homeless with the support they need. This could be in the form of shelters, counseling, or even financial assistance.
